We were blessed with so many gifts for Abigail! She is still not old enough to enjoy all of them, but here are a few of her (and my) favorites:
- Her mobile: Abigail can lay enthralled underneath this mobile for up to 30 minutes! (Plenty of time for mom to get a shower) It's great to see that now she is tracking the objects with her eyes.
- Mommy's Ergo Carrier: Thanks to Granddad and Grandma Mac, I am able to get things done around the house while still giving Abigail the attention she deserves! Some of the things I have done with my little kangaroo in the pouch? Sweep the floors, make lunch, fold laundry, go to the library and work on the computer, nursing while eating dinner, and even went up to work to train a new employee! What a gift!
- Her car seat/stroller: Abigail loves her car seat and stroller. She falls asleep almost instantly all snuggled up, and enjoys the motion of riding in the car or in the stroller on walks.
- Her "George" Womb Sounds Bear: A gift from good friend Stacy, this cute cuddly bear makes sounds similar to what Abigail heard in the womb. It helps her feel safe and secure hearing the familiar sound of a heartbeat.
- Her 3 different swaddle blankets: Abigail loves being swaddled when she's put down to sleep. She has three different types of swaddle blankets to serve three different purposes: (1) A fleece one when it is extra cold, (2) The "Miracle Blanket" which is the most secure with its straight jacket type hold, and (3) Her yellow polka dot blanket is her favorite when she wants to keep her arms out.
- Last but not least.... her pacifiers: Abigail's strong urge to suck has become an addiction to pacifiers. Does this concern me? Of course! After putting her in bed I have to wait 10-15 minutes because she will inevitably lose a pacifier and scream until someone puts it back in. It will be nice when she can do this herself.
I'm sure Abigail will be adding to her list of favorite things as she grows and can play more. I'll try to update you on new things she takes a liking to.
